HERstory

This month is Woman's History month.  Many people call history her-story to recognize the accomplishments of women.Visit the link (Woman's HERstory Month click here) and select one of the herstorical events that you think was the most important.  In your write in three to four sentences why the event was important, one way history would be different without the event, and a woman who you think is making herstory today.

  3. I think the important year for women history is the year 1920 because its the year women got the right to vote and its the year when women were treated like equals to men. If women didn't get the right to vote then we wouldn't be able to do the things we can now. It's important for us to remember that day because it reminds us of what we are capable of doing for our nation.

I think 1920 was the most important year for women in history because they got the rights to vote. Also they got to be equal to men that year. History would be different because we would know nothing about history these days. Shirley Chisholm made herstory today.

  6. The event that I thought that was most important was in 1920 it was when woman got the chance to vote.I thing that that is important because if woman wernt aloud to vote there would not be al of the votes. Since woman can vote there are enough votes for presedent. If woman couldnt vote they cant give there oppenion on which precedent to have and they would be un happy with what the men voted for and would have to live with a precident they dont even like and makes deceions they dont think is right.AleasaPurce53

  7. Alyssa Maragh 51 The event i thought was mostly important was in October ,19,1920 when women were aloud to vote for president for there rights and for speech and thats what i think is the most important time in the women history.

  8. briannaberry53 I think it is important because women should have the right to vote and not only men. The men should actually let the women have a chance of winning for once so they could be happy.History would be different because women would win for once in the whole world. I think a woman that would make history is the first lady of the U.S.A.

I think women history is important because you remember of ladies who probably saved your life in the future , but even your a women that isn't like other women doesn't mean your NOT important because you are important to you family , husband or your kids so just because your not like Rosa Parks or any other lady you can or are an important lady in your heart. THE lady I would pick for HERSTORY is Rosa Parks because she was a talented and brave women , but just because she was brave and smart doesn't mean that women that are not smart aren't important because they are important no matter how old you are or how young you are you will always be important for your heart.

  11. I think the year that was most important was 1920, because that year womans got to have the right to vote, after 72 years of struggle. But shortly afterwards, the League of Womans Voters is form to push more reforms. I think that year was important because womans didnt get to vote before 1920, until that year.

  12. I think the year that was the most important was the year 1851.I think the year 1851 is the most important because Sojourner gave speeches about peoples rights. Also she is one of the ladies that helped and gave women a lot of reasons to vote. And also do what some men do like go to war and other things that men do. - SARAH SALAZAR, MOD 53

  13. i choose 1920 because if the woman didnt get to vote the presidents wont have alot of votes and because it wont be fair for men to vote and not woman and it also fair because we have a law that says that 18 years and oldercan vote even woman so its fair that women can vote and not only men.

I pick Sally Ride, she was america's first female astronaut when she spends six days in space. I think she is important because she shows that she can accomplish something even though she is a women. She is showing other women that they could be anything even though they are a women. She is showing effort to other women.History would be different if this event happened because other women would not have the courage to be an astronaut.

  16. I pick Susan B. Anthony, who created a National Woman Suffrage Association to fight for women's rights in sociaty. I pick Susan B. Anthony to be important for a HERstorical event because without her , women wouldn't be able to do half the stuff women are doing today.Without this event women wouldn't be able to vote, probally not be able to go out to party or have freedom of speech. That is who I pick for Herstorical month.

  20. I choose Sojourner Truth because she was a lady that she wanted to be FREE.She is woman that wanted to have her own rights. Also I wish she would still be alive because I want to tell that her speech "Ain't I a Woman" speaks to me!

I would choose the one that I think is important, the year of 1920. Why, because without women voting there won't be enough voters to be wise to choose which two of the people should be president, to serve the country, to help us grow. I would be different without women voting. Without Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Antony< there would'nt be any women,at all voting. NOT EVEN ONE WOMAN AT ALL,ONCE TRYING TO VOTE!

  27. I choose Sally Ride because she shows all women that even though they are females it does not mean they can not go to space. I think it affects us because some females like space and really , really want to work in space but they think that they can't because they are women. So I think Sally Ride is a good example to the women who want to work in space.
